Jean Ann Berkenpas is an artist residing in the small picturesque mountain village of Valemount BC in the ancestral territory of the Simpcw and Lheidli T’enneh First Nations. Her watercolor and acrylic paintings are inspired by the stunning beauty of nature, particularly the Canadian Rockies. She combines elements of realism, with a vivid palette, to meditate on the beauty and detail of rugged mountains, and the people and wildlife that make that wilderness home. Through her art, she aims to draw viewers closer to nature, and connect them with the land and web of life they are a part of.
